I'm hoping someone can give the numbers, or help me get a source to get them. I have what I believe to be a limited production vehicle, a 1958 Delray sedan delivery. Mine, however, is a government model with glass panels instead of metal ones. In the Year One catalog, '58's production numbers are broken down only as far the number of 2 door wagons, being approximately 16,600. I have to believe the number of sedan deliveries would be much lower, and the number of govt. models even fewer. If anyone knows anything about them, please let me know.

Be careful out there.

Cloud,
The Sedan Delivery model was ordered either as an 1170 or 1270 model, 6cyl or V8 respectively, although the only style number that should appear on the cowl tag is 1270. Chevy built a total production of 7,466 '58 Sedan Deliveries. There is no breakdown between 6cyl or V8 models. To determine whether the car was a 6 or 8, check the first letter of the VIN. A=6 B=8.
I don't know of any way to account for how many of them were built for government service. Check your cowl tag. It's very likely to be stamped either F&SO or COPO with a number following (which is the order number). There could also be several other differences in the way the car is built compared to "standard production" of that model.
