Does anyone know what the outlet pressure on the stock power steering pump is?

Thanks,

Chris

From 1955 shop manual.Pump parts the from 1955-59 (generator mount type)..should be the same with remote pump used from 1960-64.
Disconnect pressure line from pump.(small fitting)Install gauge on the pump and thread hose into the gauge.(gauge inserted between pump and hose).Open gauge (valve) and run engine at idle speed.Turn wheels (on ground) against stops.Pressure should not be less than 750 pounds. If presssure is less tha 750 pounds slowly close valve on gauge.observing gauge for pressure increase.Pressure will increase as valve is closed if pump is good.

Note that it requires a special gauge with an in an out fitting.

Does anyone know of sources for pump rebuild parts on the generator / power steering pump combo unit?

Thankyou, for the lead on parts. Also looking for repair manual for same unit. Was it in the general shop manual for this series? Have not seen a special pub like GM does sometimes.
Thanks again
