I have recently talked to a VCCA member in Kansas that had a desire to put power steering on his '50 Bel-Air. He contacted a company that makes steering gear that bolts bolts on like the original and uses mostly original parts. The fella that runs Borgeson was interested but wanted to know if there already was a steering box that could be used. He would like a unit to check but will start to evaluate the possibility with a few photos. Is there someone on Chat that has a removed 1949-52 steering gear that they would take photographs and submit to borgeson.com? I asked Bob to also make a post on Chat as he knows a lot more about the situation than I do.

It is possible to install a 1953-54 power steering on a 1949-52.
The steering column from the 1953-54 must be used .

Gene,
I understand that but where do you find a '53-'54 power steering unit? Borgeson sells units for '55-'57 Chevys even though they have factory power steering.
