I've looked these screw heads up when I've seen them mentioned in Chat but I have not seen any on my car or in any of my bolt bins from some stripped 1938 cars. Wonder if Canadian models used them...
Where are they usually used?

They were used to attach the fenders on the advance designed trucks. One or two can be found on the cars in odd places.

On my Canadian 38, the only place I found them was on the mounting plates on the underside of the hood for the prop up rods. I believe they were #8s. I had a hard time with them and I replaced them with brass screws.
My 1951 1 Ton is now on the road! My 38 Master 4 Door is also now on the road .

Thanks, that explains it. My front sheet metal is different being made to look Pontiac so maybe they didn't use them. I would have thought the purpose was to be tamper resistant so was expecting a body tag or brake/steering location.
My hood has 2 panels on each side - the horizontal top that hinges along the hood centerline and has a riveted folding arm to hold it open - similar to a human elbow extending just past "straight" to lock it. The lower vertical section of the hood has wing nuts and slots to remove these side panels.
Most of my car front sheet metal is held together with a stovebolt type head and square nuts. Was hoping I'd have clutch head somewhere since they are unique...

My 37 fire truck had them on the body tag as well as various other places, though I can't be certain where for sure. I'm thinking some of the interior trim had it too.
