just as forecast the powers that be, maybe one or more than one in consultation with another MOD has decided for us , the members of chat , that we should not post or read anymore on the subject of STREET RODS in VCCA or CHAT.

I am surprised that the OMNIPOTENT did not totally wipe out the thread leaving no trace of what was said and written.

What You have done is to censure the posts. Disgusting

IMHO it was likely locked because the discussion was becoming circular and redundant. Circular because the same arguments were being repeated over and over. Redundant because there's a thread on the same subject in the member's only section. The people who are upset need to vent at the board members where the decisions are made. If the board isn't meeting one's expectations the thing to do is run against them.

someones attempt to slow the progression of non vintage info.. There are others sites where that info would be acceptable,,BUT the VCCA is a future failure because we are are the heart....And age many times ,causes heart failure

The thread was not deleted, or is there any attempt to slow info about personalized cars. The thread was moved to the members area because it is a discussion that has to do with VCCA members, and the benefits they receive by belonging to the VCCA. Non members do not need to be part of the discussion, as the direction of the club is decided by dues paying members... not those that want to stir the pot. Speaking of deleting threads though, expect to see this one gone soon as it contributes nothing to the club, the members, or the viewing public.

It did not say the thread was moved, instead Ray posted "This topic is now locked."

FYI, in the middle of the now locked thread, I created a thread in the Members Only area for the following discussion: Soul of the VCCA - past and future. I suppose it would've been user-friendly to point that out at the end of the thread.

As with any club or group, the dues-paying members are discussing the club's essence and direction behind closed doors.

If anyone wants to participate, they should join the club.

IMHO, non-members currently enjoy a wonderful privilege that allows them to use the most of the VCCA Chatter forums for free.

Be grateful for the gift.

The same arguments were being repeated because some people who claim to be purists were bending the supposed rules.
Below is a circular and redundant argument.

If your a PURIST its expected the motor in the car is original to the vehicle or at least same year date code. Swapping in a larger six of later years and more heavy duty transmission is a no no under purist ideals.

Painting the vehicle with anything other than nitrocellulose lacquer up to 1955 is a no no violation . Same applies for 1956 to late sixties it should be acrylic lacquer , other paint types are no no .

REDUNDANT because there's a thread on the same subject in the MEMBERS ONLY SECTION. Well goooooli, shucks, how are we non members to know that . Right now there are 6 chat members on line and 12 lookie loo's . All the lookie loos know is whats posted on the page , not whats going on behind members only barriers.

THE tired if you want to change things mantra , "run against them " is lame.

Its not the board THAT NEEDS TO BE CHALLENGED, its the arbitrary decision of one or possibly two moderators of that section that made a decision all on their own to LOCK THE OTHER THREAD about the 33 chev on cover of VCCA magazine, because the purists were rattling cage doors about a SUPPOSED street rod hot rod on the cover.

If those moderators had done what was suggested, "just let it die on its own" , as all threads do. We would not have this new thread . There was NO reason to lock it other than a person in charge made a decision based on THEIR THOUGHTS--BELIEFS AND VALUES .

The same thing applies here again, let it die on its own .

It's easy to complain. It can difficult to spend the effort to get involved and make it better. I choose to try the latter. It seems you don't.

iagree

This thread could have started in a civil manner. For example, posing the following question and nothing else: Why was the other thread locked?

It is very inappropriate to bash the volunteers who run the Chatter forums. The Moderators' actions are based on many years of consistent enforcement of the rules.

Everyone needs to play nice and follow the rules. If someone does not like the rules, get involved (join the club!) and follow the process to change those rules.

Or, go elsewhere.
