Any reason why I can't take my distributor out of my 37 216 and put it in my 54 235 I am putting in my 37 Coupe. The 216 runs great and fires right up I figure after I break in the 235 I will swap it out. I have a mag. I am thinking of running but I don't want to use it until the engine is broke in and running good.

The 235 will start and run OK but the advance curve is not correct for a high compression 235 engine. Also depending on the material the 235 cam is made out of, the 1937 dist. gear was steel and the cam you have may be cast iron, the steel gear can harm the cast iron cam gear.
