I have installed Fenton headers on my 50 Bel Air, 235 with p/g. I plan to drive it on the street and highway. What mufflers? I plan to have a local muffler shop fab the pipes.

I have TWO '51 Chevys, both have 235's in them. Both have Fenton Hedders and dual exhaust. One has short "cherry bomb" mufflers ....... not installed by me. Way too loud for me, hard to have a conversation in the car. The other '51 has the long SMITHY glass pac mufflers. I recall they are 30 inches long. They can snap, crackle and pop, but ..... you can drive at a steady highway speed and hear the radio or other folks in the car. Step on it hard and it is too loud for me. For me, I would use Flowmasters or an equivalent, which tells you a Chevy 6 is coming, but the Flowmasters won't break your ear drums. Hope these reviews help you.

I used DynoMax Ultraflo mufflers with my split exhaust manifold. They sound great, but are barely noticeable at speed. The intake noise from my dual carbs is more of an issue.
Some really great sounds. The last duals I had on a 235 chevy came from a 6 cyl Corvette exhaust manifold. Perfect fit, had the heat riser and the sound was perfect. I bought them from the local chevy dealer for $12.50. I sold the last one I had for a lot more. Thanks for all the input.
Thanks, that is what I wanted . Did you have the pipes made ? I don't think anyone makes them pre-bent.
Yes, I had the pipes bent, using stainless.
I know pipes were being sold, as a kit, can't recall if it was National Chevy Association .... but there were complaints on the poor fit of those pipes.
A good pipe bender can do the job well.

Yep, I'd love the Corvette dual exhaust manifold ....... but the prices I see are way beyond my budget.
