What is the cap(secured by cotter pin) in the top image of the enclosed drive shaft? As I remove the sources of noise, I hear others so I checked fluid in tranny and rear end, both are topped off.
Thank you
Michael

Thank you. No lubing the driveshaft other than keeping the tranny and rear full?

It is advisable to keep that vent clear. When I do the regular oil and filter change part of the procedure is to clear any of those on the car.

There is a plug at the back of the tranny that is to lube the U-joint. The Filling Station has a tech letter on it until I read it I had know idea.

Thee U joint is automatically lubed from the transmission. If the U joint ball is split you can pre lube the Ujoint by removing that plug other wise it is unnecessary to remove the plug.
