What is the original mediumto dark blue color on black for the 1937 Chevrolet half ton pickup truck?

In 1937 there were only three standard truck colors. A red, dark green and dark blue ( The dark blue was export blue and a truck color available for a couple of years.
There was a number of seldom seen except for business only special colors.

Have you tried the places suggested above?

If possible I would take a part painted that color to an auto proffessional paint store and have it matched....and the trucks were painted with enamel.

My ”˜37 was painted a medium dark blue by the previous owner. In searching over the past dozen or so years I am still uncertain it is correct. I replaced the tailgate and had a local paint vendor color match the paints. The PO used lacquer and the new is a Matrix brand paint. If it will help, I can see if I can find the paint code the vendor used. As Gene indicated the original paint wouldhave been an enamel.
