Chev Nut ChatMaster - 25,000 Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 30,701 Likes: 141 West Allis,Wi.	The 1954 trucks came with a 151 degree thermostat and a 4 pound pressure cap. The only two thermostats available today for a 1954 is a 160 and a 180 degree. If most of your driving is done in warmer weather the 160 is fine. If a 180 is used it is best to have a 50/50 anti-freeze and water mix to raise the boiling point, especially if you drive at high altitudes. Last edited by Chev Nut; 12/04/17 05:22 PM.
