With the rear axle assembled, is there any numbers that would hint at the Ring & Pinion ratio or it it had Posi-trak?
(I know how to turn U-joint and count wheel rotation)
Thanx, Lou. <c1937@znet.com>

There will be a "P" cast into the differential housing of original posi cases. if you position your head such that you are looking at the pinion flange, the "P" is at about 3 oclock. at about 8 oclock, my old corvette differential housings have a stamping which differentiates the various option possibilities. of course the only way to be sure of the ratio and posi is to remove the differential from the axle housing as the differential may have been modified by a previous owner.to repeat, STAMPING at 8 oclock, CASTING at 3 oclock. good luck, mike
