I have what looks like a 36 aftermarket waterpump. Permite brand part # PP-8011. Can anyone ID this. Thanks

Dick, I have a Permite catalog from 1935. Unfortunately it only covers the fastest moving items from the time so it is limited to Ford, Chevy and Plymouth. All the numbers are WU 300? They only show Chevy pumps for 1934 and before. My guess would be that they changed the numbering system sometime after my catalog was printed. I think WU is for "water pump unit" (they also list kits) PP probably is for "Permite pump". I might possibly have another water pump catalog from the period with an interchange list that would include Permite. I am leaving town for a few days so send me a PM if you don't get a conclusive response in a week or so.

The housing should have an outlet for a heater hose if '35 or '36. If the pump vanes are wider on one side vs the other it is a '35. If vanes are the same it is a '36. '37 and newer are different.

It has the heater hose outlet. The inner impeller vanes are long curved. The outer are short. So a 35 pump? Will it do the job in a 36?

NO, A 1935 pump will not fit a 1936.

He is right. These are not the same. They will fit on the engine but not pump water the same.
