They are all over the car, spring shackles, steering box, wherever...

They have removable 1/4 turn twist cap and are about 7/16" diameter.

Where do you find a grease gun attachment for them?

Like the picture below? If so, they are Alemite grease fittings.

You can get adapters to put onto the end of your grease gun to service these fittings.

One word of caution: do not use regular grease on the u-joint or in the steering box. The u-joint gets the same thick oil as the tranny and a good grease for the steering box is John Deere Corn Head grease.

McMaster Carr has the pin type grease couplers and grease fittings.

I should have known. McMaster has about everything.

Where would one find an adapter for the old Alemite fittings (I couldn't find in MacMaster)?

They are called pin type fittings, they are next to the other grease couplers.

PN 1091K16 .
