Does anyone know what the original Aquamarine Blue color on the 1925 sedan translates out to in today's paint world?

Hey Jeff,
Did anyone respond to your query?
I'm also interested in that color.

Jeff my CNS bulletin dated January 1927 lists it as Dupont #2441289. I'm not sure if it is still valid but it's a start. I hope this helped.

Thanks Steve,
Not finding anything and not really sure how to go about cross-referencing this. The Dupont site only goes back to 1928. I'll keep digging. I appreciate your input.

Is there no one out there that has a 1925 sedan with original paint? The color I'm looking for is Aquamarine Blue.

Got my wheels back yesterday and the color match that I had done with my hood came back much more green than I would have thought. My cars body paint is not original, but I was hoping that it might have been a match from the original color when it was painted some 50+ years ago. The modern color that I used is called aqua. Suppose it may look darker and greener because of the clear coat, but still holding out hope that someone out there has an original painted car. please

Have you tried a search of auto museums?

No I haven't. Not even sure of where one might be located. Problem is even if you saw it you still wouldn't have the duco numbers. Don't know how you would go about getting a color match. I guess you could at least make a visual comparison.

Jeff here is your best bet to find that color you are looking for to either google or Bing search your year model of your car OR just keep an eye out in parking lots, write down the name, model and year of the car plus take pics, then go to your local auto dealer of that car and have him show one on the lot plus he can give you the paint spec on that car. All paints show up differently when outside in the sun and different angles of shade! Just a thought! You are looking for 92 years old paint specs on a 1 / 2 inch x 1 / 2 inch sample sheet. Hope this helps!

Autocolor Library has a modern version of DUCO Aquamarine 2441289. It is not listed on their website. You have to contact their technical support and custom order it. Be aware, it is very expensive.

If the paint cost is considered too much then order the minimum and have a local paint supplier match it. Spray on a color panel that has the intended primer and apply 2-3 light coats the same as you will have when painting the car.

You are welcome. Just for reference, the original paint on a 1925 sedan was Dupont Duco Aquamarine Blue No. 2441289. If you take the route of buying a minimum order from Autocolor Library and then taking a panel to a local supplier, I would suggest that you post the formula from your local supplier on this forum so others can use the information in the future.

I would absolutely do that. I know that IMFALCO is looking for the same color.
