Does anyone have any knowledge about the autronic eyes? I have a 6 volt unit in my car and it works fine, on 6 volt, however, I converted to 12 volt, what can I do to convert my autronic? I ordered one off ebay that was supposed to be 12 volt, but upon researcing the unit I determined it was a 6 volt unit.l The amplifier had a scematic inside that was dated Nov 52, and an indication that it was 6 volt, and the phototube has a date of Mar 52, I don't think they manufactured a 12 volt in 52. Can anyone verify that, and can anyone tell me any other way to determine 6v from 12 v?

I would contact John Oldenburg in IL. He deals with Autronic and Guide-matic headlight controls from 1953-1966. I will PM you his number. I purchased a Guide-matie system from him several years ago.

Chevs of the Forties sells voltage reducers for running 6v accesssories on 12v.. PT#111905 Catalog price $88.75. Might be the most cost effective way to go and you can keep your 6volt unit.

Good luck.
