Good day everyone
What is the best engine oil to use in a 1932 coupe with an original engine?

I tried searching but couldn’t find anything.

10w30 is recommended. Type "10w30" in search.

There have been many, many discussions regarding engine oil here on Chevy Chatter in the past. As mentioned above, the correct type of oil to use is 10W-30.

If you have been using non-detergent oil - Don't Switch unless the engine has been over hauled and all old sticky stuff removed. The Filling Station has an article on this in the Tech Section I believe.

It is perfectly OK to use 10W-30 oil even if the engine has deposits. Dertergent will not clean a dirty engine but will prevent more gunk from forming.
Just don't flush the engine with Kerosene or an engine flush as this could dislodge clumps of sludge.

If it has had non-detergent oil all it's life I would clean out as much sludge as possible by removing the oil pan, side cover and valve cover . Also clean the screen on the oil pump and check the oil return passages on the crank front and rear. Then I would use 10-30 detergent oil.

I agree with both posts above. Go with the detergent oil.
