Just recently purchased a 1922 Chevy "490" Touring. It has a Delco 366PC distributor. The distributor point breaker plate wouldn't move but have freed it up after many days of penetrating oil and tapping. So now it will rotate using the spark lever. Having trouble removing the plate from the distributor, is there any trick to this? Afraid to hit it to hard because of the die cast metal. How do you remove the distributor from the generator? Again nervous because of the metal.
We were able to start the car before we freed up the plate but the car heated up and boiled over would this be because the spark lever was stuck in the retard position? Need some help with this my Model "T" friends are saying this wouldn't happen in a T. Thanks Mike

Hi mike,
I notice you have not received a reply yet, you will get a better response if you post your inquiry further down the list in the 1922 forum, good luck.
