i need to re-frame the sedan delivery rear door. chev's of the 40's offers a kit for the 1940 chevy sedan delivery. does anyone know if the 1940 rear door is identical to that of a 39? or does anyone know of a source for the frame of a 39 sed del rear door? thanks,mike

Are you talking about the metal pieces that cover the wood in the body part of the jam, like top & sides?....Joe

There is a very talented guy not far from you I think, who makes reproduction body parts in his shop. His work is truly remarkable. If you could trailer the vehicle to him or somehow take the piece to him, he could probably help you out. Here is a link for you Wheelwright Restorations .

guys: i'll be needing the wooden pieces that are inside the rear door itself. the wood in the rear door jambs is solid and i have the metal moldings that cover the wooden pieces. thanks,mike

The rear door will fit the opening, but the contour around the window area is a little different and would need some minor work between the 39 and the 40
The kit for the 40 is for the the door frame not the door (the 40 door was all steel)
I do know someone making woody parts in the philly area.
If your old wood can be used for templates he should be able to help.
