Good Afternoon,
I am currently in the process of restoring a 1959 Impala and I have purchased aftermarket clips to put the stainless back on the car. When I purchased the car all the mouldings were already off the car and I have no idea which clips go where. I purchased a service manual but it does not give detailed information. Is there anyone out there that can either refer me to a site/manual or even pictures of what clips are needed for all stainless.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Vince

The 1959 parts books lists the part numbers of the moulding clips and location where used. Then they show pictures of the clips and retainers with the part numbers. It covers moulding for all 1950-1959 models. Lots of looking upto do.
Not sure if this was in 1960 and later parts books but I have only the 1959 copy. Try Faxons and see if they have ant parts books for sale.
Try to find a 1959 parts book to help sort out the puzzle.

To use the parts book first go to the rear section "trim mouldingss and attaching parts" find the desired moulding and the part number of the clips will also be shown. Then go to the clip picture section pages 1089-1091 for pictures.
Up until mid 1959 new mouldings did not come with the attcching clips. Then in mid 1959 they began including the clips with the new moulding for 1949 and up models. The part numbers (and prices) also changed at that time and made things much esaier for us guys n the parts department.
