My gas gauge always reads full. I'm not sure how to check the sending unit to see if it's bad or not. Can somebody tell me how to test the sender and the gauge? It must be one or the other.

This subject was covered several times in the past. You can do a search on Chevy Chatter and the instructions on how to test your gas gauge should come up in several different places. laugh laugh laugh laugh

Well, I did a search and went back thru 2002 and couldn't find anything that answered my question. Thanks for trying.

This is what happens when the thread starts out as gas gage and ends up talking about beer.

Ray, with all due respect.
I searched for "Gas tank sender" Match all items box crossed, one result of no interest.
Searched for"Tank gauge testing" Match any item box crossed, came up with 213 matches, 6 false leads, page 5, 7 minutes later, Title "Gas gauge" by Mark47 on 21st March 2004 Test procedure posted 31 minutes later by JYD.
Followed by a "Thank you" by Mark47.
So I think it's how you search that is important.
If At First You don't succeed......
Unless we agree on terminology asearch will take longer, spelling will help but Make a broad search & it's not important, I left a space out between a & search, it wont help nor will your spelling of "gauge" without the"U" but as long as the post has the questions & answers I can't see what difference the thread drifting off makes unless your searching for "Beer"
As a matter of interest spell checker didn't queery "Gage"

Since a gas gauge is a device used for measurement it is spelled "gauge", you should run a search for "gauge" (not guage or gage...wrong spelling). The correct spelling is critical. If you run a search for "gage" (which is a challenge, a pledge or a pawn, to stake or wager), then the search will come up with "gage" if there are any such listings (son of kipper didn't find any). However, in either case "beer", as part of the thread or threads, has absolutely nothing to do with the search factor when searching for "gauge". drink drink drink drink
