As some of you may or may not know I collect data from sedan deliveries built before 1936. During my years of collecting data I've got information from 6 1930 sedan deliveries. All but one has body only number. No plant code. The last one I got had a plant code. "O" Oakland. I've looked through the service manuals to get more information. Am I missing something here or did Fisher change something during the 1930 model year? I've spoken to Chipper a little.
Thank you, Joe

Just guessing, but maybe the ones with only a body number were not made by Fisher. For example, the body of my '28 Canopy Express was made by the Hercules company.

One of the clues is that the dashboard is also the firewall, thus pointing to the fact that Chevrolet made the commercial chassis and then it went elsewhere for the body to be added.

I have a 1928 catalog from Hercules (and a brochure from 1929) that show you could get a wide variety of body styles to fit on the Chevrolet chassis. Including, a sedan delivery.

Cheers, Dean

Thanks for your thoughts Dean. A sedan delivery is a Fisher body. The tag on the firewall says Fisher body, then says Body no. & the number. I tried to look through the service news but I don't see anything describing this. I though plant codes didn't come on the tag till 1931 but I was wrong....Joe

Some of the passenger cars from 1930 through 1932 don't have the plant code letter as part of the Body Number either.
