The body man who did the stunning job on my '32 wasn't thinking when he put the door handles back on the car.
He put the locking handle on the passenger side....... doh
So how big a PIA is it to change them from side to side?

Leave the door handle alone. He installed the locking handle where it is supposed to be!!

You HAVE to be kidding.
So you have to reach across the car to lock it?....... doh
That's not the smartest thing I've run across.

Oh well......one less thing to do....... LOL

YUP, but think of it this way, if you slide across the seat to get out, your onto side walk rather than traffic, early safety thing I guess. I never do just push knob down and get out drivers side.
You also need to approach the car to pass side to UN_LOCK the door to get in.

The idea was to lock the driver's side door while in the car. Then, slide across the seat, get out on the passenger side, and then lock the passenger door with the key from the outside. It was a safety issue so that the driver would not have to get out of the car on the traffic side of the vehicle.

Also, the passenger side locking handle is not interchangeable with the driver's side non-locking handle.

A number of manufactures did that same thing. It is very common in 20's and 30's cars.

I never thought to look at my '27 Model T Tudor or '24 Dodge (which is leaving) but, sure enough, both locks are on the passenger side.
It never dawned on me to even look since I never had a reason to lock them.
