LOL YUP, but think of it this way, if you slide across the seat to get out, your onto side walk rather than traffic, early safety thing I guess. I never do just push knob down and get out drivers side. You also need to approach the car to pass side to UN_LOCK the door to get in. mike lynch..................

Then, slide across the seat, get out on the passenger side, and then lock the passenger door with the key from the outside. It was a safety issue so that the driver would not have to get out of the car on the traffic side of the vehicle. Also, the passenger side locking handle is not interchangeable with the driver's side non-locking handle. The Mangy Old Mutt "If It's Not Junk.....It's Not Treasure!"
