Is there a specific distance from the roof side rail to the first slat? How about between slats? Thanks for any help.

The distance from de roof side rail to the first slat is 2 1/4" to 2 3/8" on my all original 1932 Chevrolet special sedan " Canadian made". The slats (9) have 1 3/4"x 1/4". It's the same distance between all the slats.

Thanks for the response and info. Just trying to get a feel so I can nail mine in place.
