I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to wiring. I'm atempting to re-wire all the wires under the dash, including ignition switch. Does anyone know of a easy to understand, step by step manual for the 55 Belair? I did purchase new wiring harnesses for the dash lights, fuel gauge ect, also for the ignition switch, but I'm not sure where all the wires hook up to. Any help would be greatly appricated.

I have rewired '55's, '56's, and '57's... with both generators and alternators... there is an easy way to complete the job and free schematics... on the web! Let me know if you still need help and I'll get you started...

I would suggest investing in a 1955 Chevrolet Passenger Car Shop Manual.Has wiring diagram, pictures of individual parts, etc....Also has the required info. for repairing tons of other things on your car.Would be the best $20.00 that you ever spent.Available from ....www.fillingstation.com....their part # GG-12--or call 542-258-2114...plus they are right in your neighborhood.
