I've been told that the wood seat Frame for a 1934 Chevy Cabriolet is the same as the wood seat frame for a 1934 Master, three window coup. I would also like to know if a 1934 Chevy Master Five window Coup has the same wood seat frame as the 1934 Cabriolet

thinking it out loud. The 3 and 5 window coupes are fisher bodies as is the cabriolet.

The cabriolet must be similar inside to a roadster because the top folds down and requires an area for the top bows and the arms to slip into. I would think the cabriolet uses a different size seat springs and wood frame than closed cars 3 & 5 window.

The problem with trying to figure out what you need is difficult as the parts books list the seat frame trimmed. I know of no parts books that would list just the frame un-trimmed. Same with the cushions. Hopefully somebody will pop in that has more complete research. The Cabriolet would have imitation leather & the other closed cars would have cloth...Joe

IN A ROADSTER OR A PHAETON 33--35, the seats are fixed and not adjustable going forward or back. My 35 coupe FISHER BODY ALSO , seat moves forward and backward on spur gears about 6".

I would think your FISHER BODIED cabriolet also has that same mechanism ??????.

Think there was a coupe seat for sale on ebay in the last few weeks that did not sell, it was a wood frame only and priced reasonably .

Now you could use that coupe wood frame to construct a width that would be correct for your cabriolet. If I can find it I will post a link to it.

struck out in my search thru ebay solds and completed listings. I might have seen it somewhere else. ?

If I use LeBaro Bonney as a guide 1933-34 Chevy Cabriolet are the same. No other car models are listed as the same seat. Does anyone know of someone that might have a good wood frame I can copy?

Thanks Mike, That's a good idea. Glen does have a lot of knowledge and may have the correct seat.

Even if the 34 cabriolet is a seat frame unto itself, like I think it is.

hopefully Glenn will have one that can be copied ,even if woods in crummy shape. The frames are not complicated and you do not have to be a cabinet maker to reproduce one.

There are a few companies producing metal frame sliding seat with springs to fit 32 ford and 33 34 fords. They are bench seats and the widths would be similar.

These are meant for street rods but unless your trying to do a 100 point resto, once upholstered who is going know ???? unless car is being judged for ????

Name of one of the companies is ;
TEA'S DESIGN.
WISE-GUYS SEATS
GLIDE ENGINEERING SEATS

Nobody produces roadster or convertible tops for these cars and it will have to be custom made.

Glen did have a seat that he was willing to loan me. He was 99% sure that it was the correct seat for a 1934 Cabriolet. It's not in great shape but an excellent seat to copy. I may take it up to Tom Meleo's place to compare it to the seat he has in his car.
Thanks everyone for your help
