OK, JYD gracefully answered some of my questions regarding 19 disc wheels for a 1931 1/2 ton pickup, but I still don't have enough information to know what I am looking for. I hope someone actually has these wheels, and can tell me some very specific details about them.
I've only seen photographs of these wheels, but what I've determined so far is that the correct tires are 4.75" x 19", and that the wheels are supposed to be 19" disc with a 6 lug pattern on a 5 1/2 inch circle, painted black. The wheels appear to have rims that are separate from the hub (or are they split rims?). The rims also appear to be held to the hub with 4 mechanically fastened "clamps".
I have found someone that has 19" Chevy wheels for sale. This person describes them as follows: " 18 5/8 max diam front where a split rim type ring must fit, 3 1/2 center hole 6 stud chev pattern, 19" diam, 2' tire width, 19 1/8 diam back, 4 bolt clamps, tire valve hole on front (18" side). Back rim is riveted to disc by 18 rivets."
I'd like to know if Chevy produced different 19" disc wheels, so I can access the risk of getting the wrong wheels. The "2' tire width" and "18 rivets" comment strikes me odd... maybe the 2' is a misprint, and since I've only seen the outside of the rim, the "18 rivets" is also a surprise.
I have a photograph of one of the wheels, without the rim(s)... I can E-mail it if anyone would like.
