Hello, I am a new member here, so "Hello" to everyone. I have a 1931 independence and a 1962 Impala ss. My question is my 31 has gotten the "death wobble" on occasion when crossing very rough railway tracks and such. I have set the toe in and also checked that all tie rod ends and such are tight and adjusted the steering box. I mounted a Monroe sc2916 9 inch travel and it has eliminated the wobble, but really steers hard now on slow turns, is there a weaker stabilizer that anyone knows of that I could use. Thanks

I do not know about the stabilizer but if all steering parts are in good and properly adjusted condition you should not need one. The stabilizer only masks the problem but does not cure it.

I posted pictures in the member's area of my spare 31' front axle with an early attempt at a "anti-shimy" device. I've found even a little wear on the king pins will cause front end problems.
