Hello,
I just joined the site and am new to posting. So please forgive if this is a dumb question. But I was wondering if anyone knew of someone making rear axle gears for a 1931. I would like to change my gearing from a 4.11 to around 3:50 or similar. Thanks

Jeff

Hi Jeff and welcome to Chevy Chatter! Glad to have you with us.

Larry Jackson in California made 3.50 ring and pinion gears for the 1930-32 Chevrolets for many years. However, he has not made them for several years now and, at present, no one else is making that gear ratio for those vehicles.

Hey Junkyard dog,

Thanks! And thank you for the info. Next question:

Anybody want to sell their rear axle 3.50 gear set for a 31-32?

Hopefully you will find someone that will sell their 3.50 gear set...but if you do plan on the set being very expensive.

By the way, for a better response to your search, you may want to post either in the 1929-32 forum or in the Parts Wanted forum.

Good luck with your search.
