Several questions about a remote oil filter:

1. Where do I attach the lines for the filter? I think that I remove the oil pressure gauge line and install a t fitting for the inlet side of the filter, but I'm not sure. Then it looks like I remove a small plug under the bottom of the exhaust manifold to return oil to the block. Is that correct?

2. I bought the flexible hoses from Chevs of the 40's for the remote filter, but they seemed too short to go where I needed. So I bought 1/8 inch copper tubing (Auto Meter) as that is the size that matches the 1/8 inch fittings that screw into the block. My concern is that the tubing seems to darn small to flow much oil. Is this a problem? I'm guessing that as others have mentioned, the filter doesn't do much anyway and the flow to and from it will not negatively impact anything.

It's a bypass filter. It doesn't filter all of the oil every time through the engine. It all goes through the filter eventually.

Thank You. This shows that my issue was trying to install the filter ahead of the carb instead of in-line with it. This also clarifies the attachment points.
