Any suggestions on where I might find a replacement engine for my 1936 Master? The engine that was in the car was stolen by the guy that was rebuilding it. Shop went out of business and the guy isn't responding to emails or calls.

I have the one out of my 36' master I'm trying to sell but it will need to be rebuilt. We got it to run but the cooling system wasn't drained when it was stored so it needs cleaned/flushed out. We actually just pulled it out of the car this weekend. I've got everything minus the coil and generator. You can have the intake, exhaust, carb, etc or I'll just sell you the block and head. I can send you pics if your interested.

Tell us who took your engine maybe we could help get it back. Did you file a police report? If he is a thief he should be prosecuted. The engine # could be his downfall.

Just because he went out of business most likely due to non payment of bills or failure to pay rent on building.

Do you know for certain that your engine got loaded up and transported out of the shop ? Why do that, its heavy to transport around and find somebody with a 36 chev who needs a rebuilt motor.

Unless you have been in the shop since its closure, there's a hopeful possibility its still there ???

Look on the tax records at the county court house to see who pays the taxes on that building. Then contact the person who pays the taxes on that building to see if you can gain access. If he will let you in.....go in and get that motor. It is your property.
