Started sorting all the loose parts on my semi-dismantled 36 Master. Came across a small electric cover box which according to Google photo's is attached against the fire wall inside the engine. What is this cover used for?

Hi,
I think you are talking about the voltage regulator cover, the voltage regulator does just that regulates the voltage going to all electrical equipment on your car.
