When did tire manufacturers stop using the outside diameter and tire height as the tire size (for example, 30x5)?

I know that there are newly made reproductions with these size designations, but when did the original sizes change?

That info can help me identify the age of my ancient tires on Lurch.

Thanks, Dean

From what I find 1929 was the last year for the old measurements.

Tire sizes like your 30x5 example above were still used on the trucks thru at least 1933.
