are rear leaf springs the same from 37-49 car---have a good set off one of my 47 cars and was wanting to replace the bad ones on friends 37 Chevy 2 door sedan. most parts places say they are all the same--thanks

In looking at the parts book and the Engineering Features I would say no.
The 1936 Standard and all 1937 springs were bascially the same and the main leaf fit only these years.
The 1938 and 1939 the same and main leaf fit only these two years.
The 1940-1952 springs basically the same but came in many varieties to suit many weight differences.
Also the rear eyes were facing up on some years and down on others.
It MAY WORK if you use the 1937 main leaf and the rest of the leaves from the 1947.
