I would like to change the doping in my transmission. After removing the floor board and scraping 80 years of crud from off the transmission, I don't see a place to add doping. The drivers side of transmission has two bosses with holes in the center of each. The passenger side has shifting linkage. The Chevrolet Repair Manual shows disassembly of transmission but not servicing. Can anyone tell me where to pour in doping?

Also, I see what looks like a grease fitting on the top of the U joint. Should I be servicing that?

Any advice is appreciated.

Doping???

If you are talking about transmission oil, there is a threaded plug on the passenger side of the transmission case that is used for putting the 600W oil in the transmission.

The grease fitting on top of the universal joint retainer should be a 1/8" pipe plug instead. The plug can be removed to put in 4 ounces of 600W oil if needed.

Thanks, with your help, I got it done. Removing the battery helped me see the plug and add the oil. Mine held one quart

Your help is greatly appreciated.
