Hi I am about to fit a 29 block into my 1930 SR. THE 1930 head has already been rebuilt so I will use that. The block needs all the Babbitt work done + new pistons, rings etc.
I see that eBay has complete engine rebuild kits from 'Old Parts Source. Is this a reputable supplier and how does it compare to the FS?

Old Parts Source is run by a son of one of the owners of Kanter Auto and from what I have read is basically set up to only handle the Ebay business. I don't know about the pricing factor but if close to the same my choice would be The Filling Station.

even if filling station price is 10% greater than the other, i'd go with filling station, a strong sponsor of VCCA.and if returns are necessary, there will be no hassle. mike

FYI -- whenever you mention The Filling Station in a Chat posting -- just type the three letters T F S. (Without any spaces).
If you do that, then it will spell out the name AND add a link directly to their site.
It looks like this: TFS
