My 34 Master wasn't charging with the light switch in the off position. A search of the problem led me to check the resistor on the back of the light switch which I found burned out. A five pack of one ohm resistors cost $6.33 on Amazon including free shipping. Here are a couple pictures of the repair for future reference. Hopefully the 10 watt rating on the resistor is adequate and will give long life. I should have put some shrink tubing over the bare leads to the resistor but there seemed to be plenty of room around the back of the switch. The hard part is the removal and replacement of the resistor. I have four extra resistors in case anyone needs one although the judges might not like it.

I would use some radio type electrical solder on those leads you attached to always maintain total contact. Then covered with shrink tube.

Your local radio repair shop (if you can find 1 these days) would also have those resistors and probably in different wattages as well.
If you still have a "Tandy" or "Radio Shack" they will have them too.
