I bought a 1930 Chevy coupe with a 194ci. The motor was totally disassembled When I purchased it I. I had Paul's rod and bearing do the Babbitt work and bought every new component I could find. I have built the rotating Assembly and have the head on installed a Billy Possum oil pump and the oil distribution block. My problem is I seem to be missing the oil line from the oil distribution block and the rocker shaft. I have no idea how it was run there is a small hole in the block that goes into lifter and push rod box I assume it ran through there. If so was there a fitting there or did the oil line just pass through the hole also was there a tube or piping that connects to the little return line that returns oil back into lifter and push rod box pictures would be great of a 194 with the side cover off if it's easier to text images my cell is 5018449172 thanks in advance for any help

The oil line goes thru the hole in the block. There is no fitting that goes there.

The oil line goes from the oil distributor, thru the hole in the block, and up to a special connector in the center of the rocker arm shaft. There is an elbow type of pipe that comes off of the connector to direct the return oil down into a tube that goes from the cylinder head to the bottom of the engine block.

Sounds like you need to purchase a repair manual for your vehicle. The manual will definitely help with many of your questions. You can purchase a reprint of the manual from the Filling Station. www.fillingstation.com

My 29 should be the same. The copper tube seen hanging down was turned up and fastened to the fitting in the enter of the rocker assembly. You can see the discharge elbow which sends excess oil down the drain tube. If you are missing the tube, one of our members used conduit.

A little bend in the small oil line on the pushrod side of the engine will let any oil drip off before it drains out of the hole to the other side. Alternate is a wire wrapped around the line to direct any drips away from the tubing. In actual operation very little oil will follow the line as long as the fitting is tight and the drain tube pictured is in place. The tubing is 1/8" copper.

Here's a pic from my '32. The line from the oil dist is unscrewed. I have some of the oil pump with attached lines if you need them.

Is this setup different than what is on my "47"? I have threaded fittings on both sides of the block to prevent any leakage from the block.

The 1930 and the 1947 engine blocks are completely different.
