Hi all, got a question in regards to the rubber horn cushion. The cushion in right now is torn so ordered a new one from cot40 and once opened realized it way too big. So do they come in different sizes? Do I also need to cut to make fit? Thanks

I recently got the outer cushion for my banjo wheel and it goes around the part of the outside of the horn ring. That was the only one I found, the one in the center of the ring on mine is ok and I did see that anyone had that.

Is this for the Production wheel or the Banjo wheel?

Just to clarify on my end but if I understand correctly this wheel has two horn cushions? Or just one? This is for a banjo wheel.

I have two of them and repairing the cracks in one getting it ready to paint. Both wheels had what was left of rubber that went around the outside of the metal center part of the horn ring, that's what I got from cot40. The rubber piece in the center is what I did not find but mine seen to be ok. If you would like I could email you pictures.

There is only one rubber part for the accessory 1942-1948 wheel in the COT catalog. It is their part #755904. Also the only such part listed in the 1948 Chevrolet parts book.

I have a little one that fits perfectly inside but the new one is way to big. Now I'm really confused.

As to the question, I don't have a clue. But it does seem to me that a round-table meeting of the princes is called for here. That way it can be decided by an appointed committee just how many cushions go in a 42-48 Accessory (Banjo) steering wheel. Now, of your lessers that is not a problem. We know how many. Arn't those things merely insolaters anyway. Something to prevent you from accidently grounding out and blowing your horns and showing off all the time. Especially the Fleetliners. I sure do hope you-all get this here mystery figured out. Well, maybe not. I haven't had such a chuckle in quite a spell. Mercy! Charlie

It has been a long time since I had my banjo apart but I believe there is only one rubber insulator and it is the one pictured above with the 3 tabs. I think it fits in the hub of the wheel.
