Has any one rebuilt their knee actions for a 37. I am planning on going through the NOS set I have this spring. Any advice or tips will be great

I sent you an article that was in the G&D several years ago.
I doubt if yours are new because Chevrolet sold mainly rebuilt units.

Hi Andy, It maybe helpful to look through some of our old posts on the topic. Knee Action Rebuild For those who do not have the mechanical background to take on this project then I recommend Apple Hydraulics an excellent rebuilder. Rebuilt 34-38 Dubonnet Shocks Nice to know what you are getting into before starting this project. Good luck, Mike

While I agree with the above if they are new/rebuilt they could easily be partially disassembled and inspected. Sending them out is very expensive.

I knew you grandfather Kenny for many years, saw the '37 when he took it to 6 Cyl. tours. Did you trytightening the packing nuts? If you pull out the shafts and the rollers have been replaced with bushings it is a rebuilt. Almost an advantage. Not sure as to what the rebuilders used for a seal but antthing would be better than the original cork. If rebuilt there is usually a month/year date stamped into the top of the housing.
