Where’s the ID plate located on my 37 Chevy passenger car? The 37 Chevy I’m asking about has a Flxible Body, NOT a Fisher body, which is on right side of cowl, nor a Holden body which is on left side of cowl. The 1937 Flxible Clipper was the first year to use a COE design and the last year for front engine. The 1936 Airway had it on right side of the cowl under the hood. The 37 Clipper doesn’t have a hood. The 38 Clipper was a monocoque pusher and had the ID plate in the rear luggage compartment next to the engine. There is no indication that an ID plate was ever attached to my luggage compartment.
I have the Engine and ID numbers for all 164 of the 37 Chevys with Flxible bodies made. A “crate” motor was installed in 1952 but no one bothered to stamp the numbers on the block. It has “Mankato” written on the side, if anyone from Minnesota remembers seeing it in the past 80 years. Any assistance greatly appreciated.
