Good grief!

BB are you trying to kill me? When I saw that banner I almost expired. Did too!

It is not enough to merely show some Fleetliners, you should consider what effect it may have on some of us who don't know how to deal with our betters.

As pure luck would have it, I found quickly where my nitroglecirn was stashed. It was a closs call. Too close. Mainly, owing to that futons on the black ones. (CC should know better.) It doesn't take much to push some of us over the edge. My life was a-flashing by me eyeballs. Was too! The missus had got to 91 when she realized i would recover. She seemed dissapointed. Go figure. Mercy! Agrin

Please show some mercy and form a committee to approve what you select as a banner. Doing so may saves lives. bananadead

those cars would look so much better sitting 3" off the pavement with air ride system all around.

Stuff a 572 CU IN crate motor BBC 720 HP under the hood with a 6 speed transmission and Flowmaster mufflers to wake the neighbors when going on a 1 AM coffee and donut run .

Never mind the 6 subwoofers in the trunk rocking the car and making you deaf ........

Well Bruce asked for it and certainly received it. Sorry it caused so much grief for you Charlie, but I'm sure you will get over it and continue with your informative
comments. blahblah
BB- Job well done !! Don't pay any attention to Charlie. He is just envious of our Fleetlines.

OK, if we are going to pick favorites I guess I will have to go with the 47 but all are worthy of being included in the Banner.
Don't know where Bruce is. Surprised he hasn't commented yet.

I cant see anything wrong with any of them. They are all beautiful cars.
I take a lot of what Charlie says with a grain of salt or a spoonful of sugar.

41s are worthy of being in the banner also. But you won't see one owing to their making all other year models look puny in comparison. Well, I have to blame something. Go figure.

CC, your groveling is superior to the best panhandler I ever gave a buck to. Is too.

Please knock it off. bike

Thanks,

NOTE: The following is pure tee nonsense and not worth your time to read. I suggest you skip it. You've been warned. The risk is yours. Last, it is submitted by a diseased mind the owner of which should be taken out and shot. It is also purely and solely tongue-in-cheek. woohoo

More regarding the banner:

All Fleetliners are princes with similar status as Machiavellian speak.. If you want to be a prince you have to own a Fleetline. Wood helps.

After obtaining or already having a Fleetline but are not a true prince yet, there's a long waiting period. The waiting period is to allow time for you to be vetted. There are grueling requirements. (Those requirements are secret and sacred.

One must be able to hold one's nose aloft so that you appear to be looking down at every other Chevrolet and looking between your nostrils. It takes practice. I encourage you to start now. Your missus may help you get it just right.

When after you have proved a worthy candidate, you must wait for the good graces of BB (otherwise known as King of the Banners) to dub you with a piece of Fleetline only chrome on your shoulders. He will say, "Charles Hill, having authority I dub you a prince in the Kingdom of all banners and for all time until you are deceased and buried whole inside you Fleetline. May your fellow Chatters pay homage to the college of princes or suffer whatever the active Fleetliners Disciplinary Committee deems appropreate for the faux pox committed.

All who do not own a Fleetline and enjoy a less status to the betters (Princes) are obliged to share all their booze (Only Wild Turkey, Maker's Mark, Jack Daniels, and Crown Royal) with the Princes. This includes beer but it must be of the finest European brands (Sorry, they will not be offered Blue Ribbon or Old Milwaukee. That would be a serious offense.

I would suggest that when you see one of these princes approaching you that you readily kneel until such prince has passed you. You must not look up to ascertain such princes location but merely listen to his boots clicking on the pavement. I will surely kneel down. I just hope and pray that I have my shoeshine box with me so I can put a U.S. Army Paratrooper spit-shine the prince's boots. A bit of Brasso for the spurs will get you a pat on the head. Oh, Glory!

You will notice that the princes do not flock with lesser souls. If they are having a gathering of say 10 princes and you show up uninvited, they will not humiliate you they will merely slip away to another part of field and regroup leaving you standing by yourself. Will too!

This then is the reason for the banner at the top. How else could it have gotten there?

The above is merely a rough idea of how some things happen. The fact that a 41 SD coupe has not been shown except by proofreading error and accident is imaterial to this post. Is too!

Charlie... You know that we have the '41 banner all ready to go. Just waiting to add that final picture of you and the Missus in the '41 convertible, and on a VCCA tour. On second thought, you take the picture... just the Missus in the pic will be fine. Agrin

Prince CC,

Sir,

My most humble thanks for the encouragement. Coming from royalty and one's betters carries a heap more importance and is joyfully satisfying. Is too! talk

Whenever I ever get to see you in person, in addition to the boot and spur shinng I will shine and sharpen your sabre as well. No tips will be accepted. Like at Chicfolay (sp), it will be my "pleasuuure" Agrin

You guys! Agrin

Prince CC,

You plum caused me to roll out of my computer chair. I just cannot think of a come-back that would trump that Sienfield (sp) character.

Your fellow princes will be lining up to buy you a shot or two. beermugs You rung my bell this time and I was rendered speechless for quite a spell. Superb job! Was too!

Merciful Heavens to Betsy!

I see where the Fleetline Banner has been changed. I have to say that it was better than the present one. At least you could tell what you were looking at. The one now merely lists the cover, it apperars, of G & D for a year.

If one was to squint real tightly, one may be able to tell what one was a-lookin at. Glimpsed as a whole, it looks like Piccaso had a bad day.

I really liked the Fleetlin Banner. BB did a good thing there. He promoted excellsnce by picturing carsthat any one would be proud to own. You all merely misunderstood me. I'm sad to see that its been sent down to the lowest hole available in the archives. Well, I assume that's where it is. Along with any and all pictures of the 1941. Beauty has its faults.
