How is the power steering tank on a 53 attached to the pump? mine is leaking under the tank. Al

There are three screws on the bottom of the reservoir, easily removed, with a gasket between the reservoir and pump housing.

The three screws Gene refers to show in my book to be slotted head stove bolts.

Hi Al, Mine started leaking also. I removed the tank and found there were two small steel washers inserted in the cork gasket. I removed the steel washers and refitted the old gasket and tank, no leaks since. I assume the gasket shrinks with age. New gasket sets are available. Ian.
My favorite Chevies were built in the 30's 40's and 50's. 32 Special Sedan, 41 Special Deluxe coupe, 52 Bel Air Hardtop and 58 Impala Convertible.
