Hey guys, finally got my hands on a 569s for my '32 Coupe. Who would you recommend for a rebuild of the carb, or where to source a rebuild kit?

The carb is pretty clean, I just tore it down and have it soaking in Kerosene to remove a few decades of shelf dust.

Thanks
-Rob

I had mine sent out by a local shop that sells parts for antique cars in Weymouth MA called "Then and Now". They sent it to a rebuild shop in NY they use. It came back looking and performing as new.Outstanding! I think it was around $175. Maybe give them a call and see if they can give you the info on who the shop is.

If you check the G&D you will see a couple of members that rebuild carbs, Forest Street and Junkyard Dog. I do not know if one or the other can do your carb, but they are absolutely dependable as craftsmen. I had my 29 rebuilt and the result was outstanding. I suggest you contact these fellas and see if they meet your need.

I now only restore the 1929-31 Carter updraft carburetors.

Dean Echols in Chino Valley, AZ and Doyle Stokes in Georgia are two VCCA members that rebuild Carter W-1 carburetors. I taught Dean last winter and he is nearly nearly as good as I was before I retired from W-1 rebuilds. Dean test runs carbs on a mid-30s Chevy six.

Thanks guys!

Does anyone recognize the markings on this carb? The tag says 569s, and the bottom stamp is "421" but I've never seen the "RO" casting or "33" stamp on a carb.

Possibly a rebuild? I'm not sure how a re builder would add a cast marking on the body.

The "RO" or "RD" on the casting is a replacement body manufactured after the original production ceased. I suspect it might have been as late as the early 50s. As far as I could tell the casting was the same as the earlier production.

If I remember correctly the RO indicates the part was made by the Rochester Division of GM rather than Carter.
