Trying to I.D. the correct application of these hubcaps.

We have asked 3 different collectors & received 3 different answers from 1934-1936
{ We are leaning towards '36 but not absolutely sure}.

They fit the original 17" artillery wheels.
They are stamped {GUIDE Made in USA}.
The newspaper they were wrapped in is dated 1987.

Any help with proper applications is appreciated.

If the diameter is 7 3/4" they are for a 1936 Standard.

They fit all artillary wheels not just standard. The caps for '36 wire wheels had a different backside.

I should have quoted. I was replying to ChevyNut's post about the 1936 cap that it was for all '36 artillery wheels not just standard. They would fit any with the same as wheel.

They will fit 1936 Standard cars only and only the artillary wheels.
A 19" wire wheel is listed as an option for 1936 Standards for "off road" use......I have never seen a car with them and as you know the wire wheel hub cap has a different retaining system.
They will NOT fit any other year Standard and way too small to fit a Master which had a 9 1/2" diameter hub cap for the Master artillary wheel. The Master hub cap did not have the pressed speckled area around the bow tie also.
Ths Standard wheels had five lug holes and will not fit any other model.

No problem thanku

It is intresting to see that the hub caps were made by the Guide Division of GM. There were several different of companies that made hub caps for GM over the years. That is why you will see minor differences of the same hub cap.

Gene, Is the 7 3/4 diameter over all or is it the flange on the back side that goes into the wheel? I think I have a set like that but was never sure what they fit. I will have to measure them when I get home, I am on the road right now for a couple weeks.
thanku

That is the overall diameter. Beside the method of attaching the hub cap to the wheel the diameter of the 1935-1936 Master wire wheel hub cao is a little smaller than the artillary whhel hub cap. 8 3/4 VS 9 1/8".
