Hey guys I'm in search of a muffler that will give my 216 a quiet sound. I once was by a guys 50 chevy with a 216 and the exhaust sound was so quiet in sound that I didn't know it was on at first.

I need it in oval shape hopefully not over priced, some friends said any muffler will do but I want to be sure.

All the new cars are so quiet , I want something like that, so chime in if have any muffler that you used or even a combination of an other added to the system Thanks Ed

I think I would get a referral from a friend or two about a muffler shop they would recommend.

A good shop should be able to fit an oval muffler on there without much trouble and not charge you an arm and leg.

Good luck,

Hello Edmunds41,
I could not find a muffler locally that had the right inlet / outlet positions for the stock exhaust.
I purchased a stock muffler for my '37 MD sedan 4 dr. from CoF's and it is extremely quiet.
