Can anyone tell me what else I need to make a complete horn button for my '24 Touring? I know I am missing the center cap and possibly a spring or two to make it complete. Order of assembly of the parts would help as well. Does anyone have these parts and would be willing to part with them for a price?

Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike.
I made the button parts for my 1924 and have photos of the parts. Send me your email adress and I will send you photos.

Thanks,

I did find the center button in a box of parts. Funny how knowing what a part looks like makes it stand out so much. The brass piece I have is way different than yours but I imagine that's not a big deal.

I bought a partial steering wheel - minus the wood ring - that I have looking pretty good. Mounted the horn button on it and it looks even better and works smoothly. Now to find that elusive wooden ring and I will have another piece of the puzzle/project complete.

Does the '24 Chev steering wheel have finger grooves? Does it have 6 segments?

Not sure about the finger grooves but it does have only four sections. The metal cross piece of the steering wheel I have is right at 14 1/4" from center to center of the attachment holes.

I noticed in Goldenwarrior's pictures his steering wheel had finger notches... I have, what i thought was a 1923 - 24 steering wheel with no notches. Interested in knowing which wheel would be correct for a '24 & what year the notches started.
I made a copy of my original in walnut, It's listed on ebay.

My steering wheel has no notches but it may not be original.

Saw the steering wheel on ebay. Beautiful workmanship but a bit out of my price range for now.

My 24 Roadster has a smooth steering wheel. It looks like it could be original but could be an older replacement.
