Iam changing the light switch face plate on my 29. How does that switch knob come apart? It sure don't seem to come right out Thanks

The back side of the knob is drilled and threaded, and a round-head machine screw holds the knob in place. To disassemble, you have to open the back of the switch by prying open the tabs around the edge, then lift out the plate and you can then see the slotted screw in the back.

Best bet is to disconnect the battery, disconnect the leads, and remove the entire switch so you can work on it at the workbench.

I have restored several of those switches for customers and Chip's description is exactly how you do it.

That's a lot deeper than I wanted to go, but whats new. There is no face glass that covers the plastic that has the printing,,correct?

It worked got it apart, new back plate, polished the knob, and back in the dash. AND the lights still work. Thanks again. Happy new year. Roger
