I'm getting ready to send my outside door handles and trunk handle off to be chromed. Can someone assist in how to remove the lock cylinders? My original keys still work and I want to reuse them.

Thanks

Went out in the garage this morning and took another look at the handles. Found little dowel pins in each and removed them. A bit of a struggle, but the cylinders are out.

Tony, How did you remove the lock cylinder from the trunk handle ? The only pin I see is a large one that moves just
a little one way or the other. Could you take a picture ?

Just drive out the little lock pin that goes throug the side ifthe handle. It is about the thickness of a paper clip.

Thank you for your reply. I assume I must remove the handle from the trunk lid because I don't see a pin. Next problem; how to remove the handle. I removed the nut on the inside end and tried to tap and wiggle the handle, but it doesn't move. Is there another pin or clip that I'm not seeing? BTW, I think maybe the handle and/or lock are from an earlier one because the keyway has 5 ridges, 3 on left & 2 on right, that would seem to me to be for the earlier key, maybe '34.

Sounds that the handle is an after market replacement.

Sorry about this guys, I missed this and never meant to not reply. Exactly what Chev Nut says. Little pin to remove. Super old post, I hope you got it done.
