I Have 2 sets of 2 3/8" hubcaps, one is aluminum, the other is brass/nickel plated. The only part number i could find is 335450. Are the Brass caps early? Aluminum caps for '27-'28?
Any ideas?

All the 28's I know of have nickel plated brass. They do tend to split. I always thought that the aluminium were aftermarket.

The '28 cap had the winged wheel emblem and the earlier caps had the bow tie emblem on them. I believe they were brass from the factory.

While I am no expert on Hubcaps it is my understanding the original hubcaps were nickel plated brass. The aluminum caps are reproductions made at a later date.

At least for some years Canadian cars had aluminum hub caps while the USA cars had plated brass.

I wondered if there was a difference between Canadian & US caps.
It would be nice to see a parts book with a description beside the part number.

As far as i understand, the Winged Wheel hubcaps were an aftermarket cap for 1928. I have a set on my Cabriolet

I just found another part number (362486) from a newer parts book effective March 1, 1939... Could this be for an Aluminum replacement?

Termite is correct. The winged cap is aftermarket. Serch for my article on hubcaps some years ago.
