Here's what I have for a 36 jack.

With the jack support bracket attached. Bolt is not factory, don't know what the original was. The weld on the side looks like a repair. [Linked Image from i1243.photobucket.com]

Jack handle does not have the 90 degree bend on the end either. [Linked Image from i1243.photobucket.com]

Perhaps there were more than one style OR manufactor.

Yes it looks like that.

You may be correct about different manufactures, but I've still only ever seen the straight blade ones.

That's it (jack, base and handle)! It's correct for the 1935 Master and 1936 Master and Standard.

The bolt will have a tapered point so it will screw down onto the bracket hole, this wedges the jack tight to the bracket. The bolt also has a screwdriver slot cut into the top of the bolt head.

This jack was used on 1935 Master and 1936 Master and Standard cars only and not on any other GM cars.

At the 2016 Hershey swap meet there was a company with a very large variety of old car jacks for sale. Most of them were tagged with the brand of car they were from. I found one marked 1935 Standard but I did not buy it as I was not totally convinced. A little while later I found another at one third the price and bought it. It is made of pressed metal (not cast) and stands app. 5 inches high and extends to about 9 1/2 inches. Is this the right one or can someone tell me what I should be looking for.

I believe the jack for a 1935 Standard would be a conventional type unlike the bumper style jacks shown in the photos.

Yes, The Standard used an under axle screw jack. I have searched my material and can not find a picture of the mid 1930's screw jacks. The same jack would have been used for 1/2 ton trucks.

Will be seeing my daughter over Christmas and hopefully she may be able to post some photos of what I have. At 5 inches tall it sits well below the axles and a block of wood would be required as a spacer but on the other hand I cant think of any other car that this jack would work on with out a spacer.

Here is a couple of photos of the jack I bought. Do owners of 1933 - 1935 Standards recognise it or does anyone know what else it may have come from.

Ron, This Jack looks very much like the one in my 35 Standard. Base is 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" approx. Height is about 6-1/4" down. I bought mine on e-bay for 5.00 as nobody knew what is was for. I have some doubts about the Handle though.

I found the folling info. for the 1935 jack.
The lowered measurement was 8 1/16" and raised was 14 1/16".
I would GUESS the handle folded in half and was rather thin for storage.
Also the jack was recommended to be placed under the spring next to the axle rather than under the axle proper. Probably due to the flatter surface.
From the description in the parts book the handle attached to the jack with either a square fitting or a hook, two types. From the 1932 manual the hook end can be seen.

When I bought my 1935 Standard in the late sixties it had a jack that sounds like the one you described Gene but I accidentally left it in a sedan I sold. It had a square hole for the handle whereas this jack has a hook arrangement. Is it possible the hook type was a shorter version like this one and the one Jon has?
